1: Choose your target audience
The objectives of your campaign will give you a pretty good idea of who you need to target. So start with the outcome you’re after. Are you ramping up brand awareness, focusing on making that sale or somewhere in between? Do you want to tell people about a product when they’re in the research stage or hit them when they’re about to whip out their wallet? Who are the folks who’ve been interested in your brand before or are you on the hunt for new recruits? Armed with all this info, you’ll have a clear idea of the audience that fits the bill.
